Fast.

That describes how medschool is.

Today, I got my first "standardized patient." This is basically an actor, hired by the school, to play the part of a patient for us first years. We have to go in, interview them like they're a real patient, and then write our note about it.

She seemed. LIKE A REAL PATIENT. For sure. These actors really ARE actors.

The city is weird. Very busy. Everyone crammed up against everyone, trying to live happily. On my way walking to and from school, I see folks outside their apartments, way out on the lawn in broad daylight, just smokin weed.
Like it's nothing.
Me walking by: "Hm...and THAT's marijuanna, packed into a cigar. Not a cigar. Wow."

Right now a gigantic helicopter is flying over our apt making gigantic noise. Philly totally makes GR look like a pansy place for "urban" people, versus urban people, which are here.

Anyway, this weekend I'm going to Lowe's to get nails to hang my friggin belt/tie holder I got for my birthday but still haven't hung. In other news. I have a lot of work to do. So I should go do it.

PEACE OUT, KIDddDZzzzzzzz!

OH OH OH OH

KEITH's MIDDLE NAME IS STEPHEN!!!

duh.

:D I just saw his user name haha

yeah yeah dead people yeah

Isn't Keith's last name Michael? hm...

Actually that's kyle's middle name. ...I don't know.

dead people are cool, and right now THREE of my good friends get to play with them. And I don't.

grar.

Right now I'm stalling taking a shower. What else is new.
It's supposed to be *gasp* sunny today in Chicago. Yesterday it rained all night (again).
But I never know what to wear out to work because everyone in this city always looks so cute and dressed up OR so cute and hippie indie hipster dressed down. I don't think I can do either of those as well as people who have lived here longer. And nice shoes make my feet hurt. :(

But I am allowed to wear jeans to work, so I guess maybe I'll try the hipster thing. haha yeah right.

I miss you Lisa, since I don't think anyone else is reading this?

I can touch dead people

So I'm taking an anatomy class this semester, and we work with cadavers. SO COOL!!! Yesterday was my first lab, so we didn't really do too much besides learning where everything is in the lab, but we looked at one of the bodies, and it was amazing. I kept thinking about all those Buffy episodes where they're in a morgue and all of a sudden one of the dead people jump up because they're a vampire now. That hasn't happen. Yet. But when it does, I'll be prepared. All I need is a good Mr. Pointy....

Dead people feel weird. And look weird. Everything was this tan-ish color. I guess I expected the muscles to still be red, and you know, everything to be colorful like they are in the books. Speaking of books, my anatomy book is sweet. I love looking at all the pictures. Maybe this is a good sign that I should work in a physical therapy setting.
